PKS Sketch Challenge

Happy Wednesday!

It's finally warming up here in the Frozen Tundra....Yippee!!!!
I can FINALLY get the kids outside for some fresh air, more than just from the house to the car and back.

And I've start Spring cleaning....here in Wisconsin (or at least in my neck of it), spiders are a common nuisance.  So before the thaw, I am sweeping all the ceilings and nooks/crannies to keep the pest population down to a minimum.

In between the cleaning and feeding the kiddos, I created a card for the current Peachy Keen Stamps challenge.

It's a sketch challenge.......

I am SO ready to Spring and all the festivities and family traditions..i.e. Spring cleaning.

For my card, I pulled out the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge (one of my FAVS!) and cut the bunny bird at 3 1/2 inches.  I only cut the base so that I could stamp a Peachy face on him.

I stamped his face in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, highlighted with a Gelly Roller, colored his beak with Pumpkin Liquid pears for dimension and interest.   Finally chalked and highlighted his cheeks.

The cracked egg is part of the bunny bird cut.  I stacked several on the side, in different sizes, on the left side.  I'm thinking that I should have added some yellow eggs, but hindsight is 20/20, right?

I'm a 'sucker' for you

Happy Friday!!!

It is SO cold here today....single digit highs.  But the sun is out...so ALL is well in our Winter World.  And because of the temps (and I cleaned the house like crazy yesterday washing the family's bedding and other laundry), today is a scrappy day for me. YAY!!!!   Before I get to scrapping my bottom off, I wanted to share with you a cute little card I make a few days ago...

My inspiration for this card was two fold....the current PKS Sketch challenge (see sketch below) and Valentine's Day.

PKC-14-01

I used Miss Kate's Lollipop Couple for my focal point (and hearts).  For her cute little face, I used Peachy Keen Stamps January SOTM.  I highlighted the face with white gel pen and dry chalk.  The lollipop is on pop dots, along with the 'floating' hearts..

The paper is from some loose 6x6 in my stash.  The flatback pearls are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.

The inside says "I'm a 'Sucker' for you."
Just perfect for a special little one.  ;-)

"The Breakfast Club"

Madonna, 1987 Olympics, Garbage Pail Kids, Big Hair, Neon.......

Ahhhh.....Memories of the 80's!

I LOVE the 80's....especially the movies....

'The Breakfast Club' is one of the iconic movies from the 80's...alongside 'Dirty Dancing,' 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' & 'The Goonies.'

This week's challenge is inspired by this movie......
Create a project inspired by the morning...this could be PJ's, coffee, anything that makes you think of breakfast time.

Breakfast for me is happy, rosey-cheeked children, birds singing & the smell of bacon and coffee in the air.  And since I LOVE coffee, that was my initial inspiration.

To begin....I started with the Sihouette store.  I found this card file by Samantha Walker in the store, along with a DCWV kitchen paper pad in my stash...Voila!  My idea was born....

I LOVE how this card came together.  It's so fun...and girly.

The banner was another Samantha Walker file.  I used my Silhouette software to subtract the letters from the 'flags' of the banner.

(close up of tea cups on inside of card)

For the tea cup 'overlay,' I used Samantha's 4 Flourished Tea Cup Set Silhouette file and sized them to fit the tea cups for the card insert.

Pearls are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.

Thank you for spending time with me today.

Ice Cream, Love, & Stamps

Happy Tuesday!!

Get Inky! Stamps current challenge is "Summer Sun Fun."

When I was a little girl, I remember my parents loading us kids up in the Summer, in our pjs, and going to get ice cream.

Here is my creation for the challenge..........................

I used Blue Moon Creations' Sew Sweet Cupcakes stamp set for the sentiment and the hearts.

The ice cream cones and speech bubble frame are from the Silhouette Store.  I used Peachy Keen Stamps Snow Cuties Face Set for the ice cream cones.  A little twine bow and rhinestone to finish it off.
