Thanksgiving Place Cards

Happy Halloween!!!!

It's time for another 3-D challenge over at Cardz TV.

The challenge theme is "All in Our Places..."
(Create place cards for your Thanksgiving Table.)

In our home, Thanksgiving is a laid back kind of day.  We stay home, not typically visiting family or vice versa.  After all it's a day off for Mom too, right??  :-)

Our tradition begins with watching the Macy's Day Parade, while the turkey is in the oven.   And our breakfast is homemade cinnamon rolls, milk, juice, & coffee (of course).

We don't have a formal Thanksgiving dinner either...mostly because our dining table is now my craft table.  ;-)  And the youngest of our adopted children does not sit well at the table.  So my place cards are not assigned to anyone, but left blank.  After we eat, I thought my 8 year old daughter could use them for her tea parties and what not.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and Jamie's cut file  to create these adorable place cards.
I used a Peachy Keen Stamps face stamp for the eye/eyebrows, instead of the ones included in the cut file.

The banners were hand cut, inked with frayed burlap distress ink, and stamped with a greeting from the "Thankful for You" CardZTV stamp set.

Harvest Greeting Shaker

Happy Saturday!!

It's a beautiful Autumn day here in the Midwest.  And it's raining leaves.  Ugh!  That means I have to make time on this lovely weekend to rake ALL of the leaves.   A woman's work is never done, is it?

Before I head out to do yard work, I wanted to share a card with you.

Peachy Keen Stamps has a photo/thankful challenge.

November Photo Inspiration
Isn't this photo gorgeous?  There are SO many inspirations/themes to inspire.

Here's what I came up with........

I used my Silhouette Cameo to create and cut my frames.

I stamped the pumpkin and greeting in MFT Hybrid ink.

After I assembled the card, I added some interest with a clear Wink of Stella brush pen.

I used these two Peachy Keen Stamp Sets.

Fang-tastic Easel

Happy Friday!!

It's time for a new 3-D Cardz TV challenge.

Our theme is "Fun Folds.”
Challenge - Create a 3-D Card for Halloween

When coming up with an idea for this card....my inspiration came from my stash of Tim Holtz's Distress Glitter.  Crazy huh?   I bought the glitter last fall with the intent of using it on Halloween cards...well, that never happened.  Of course!  So I thought this year I would use it.   I don't like using dry glitter on projects...it seems to come off and I get it EVERYWHERE in the process.  So I got to thinking...what about a shaker card?   Then I saw the Cardz TV stamps set sentiment "You're Fang-tastic" and Voila! An idea!

I used Peachy Keen Stamps SOTM set and coordinating SVG and my Silhouette Cameo to create the base of the card and shaker bat.

The base of my easel card is an 11" x 4.25" piece of white Papertrey Ink carstock...scored at 2.5" and 5.5".

The face is stamped on the outside of the transparency with Ranger Archival Ink.
To give the bat a Halloween tone, I used Stormy Sky Distress Glitter.
The veneer bat is coated with the same glitter.

I am so happy with just how well this card turned out.  So cute!!

Be Hoppy With Action

Happy Tuesday!!

It's my day for posting over on Action Wobbles.

I created a sleeve card with the new Cricut Artfully Sent cartridge.   I LOVE this cartridge.  Well worth the $$.   It has SO many styles of cards with SO many themes.

The frog was a cut out in the base of the card.  I manipulated the file a bit so that the frog could be put on an action wobble.   Perfect for the sentiment from Cardz TV.

 (wobble in 'action')

My Hero

Welcome to another challenge at Red Carpet Studio!
This bi-weekly challenge is inspired by your favorite movie Superhero!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month,  RCS would like to do a shout out to all our followers who have courageously fought through a personal challenge be that a disease or a personal hardship.

THE CHALLENGE:  Create a project inspired by your favorite super hero!

Challenge Guidelines:

Project must be posted during the duration of the challenge, no back linking.
Project must fit the theme of the challenge.
Link up by OCTOBER 19 at 11:00 PM US CST.
Number of challenge entries is limited to three per participant.

This challenge's sponsor is Stephanie from the DT.

A randomly selected participant will win a crafty prize from our sponsor!

My creation.........................
The basic card is a file from the new Cricut Artfully Sent Cartridge.
The front panel was not part of the original card.  Using my Explore and Cricut Design Space, I created my own.  :-)

The cape and banner originally had some text attached.  I didn't want that look, so I used the contour feature in the software so that I could personalize it...like the front panel.

This card is made in honor of my husband.  He is the strongest and most courageous person I know.  He has battled cancer, a heart attack, and was diagnosed last winter with a chronic health disease (that we at first thought was cancer - again).  He gets up everyday, no matter his health, and goes to work.  He takes such good care of us (the kids & I) and puts up with my addiction to collecting crafty supplies & my love of animals.

Cricut Artfully Sent Cartridge
Cricut Explore
DCWV Cardstock
Cardz TV Stamps
