Happy Sunday!

It's the 5th Sunday of the month.  That means over at the Red Carpet Studio blog this week's challenge is a themed anything goes, and both DT's will join in.

This week's theme is Disney.  Just create anything with a Disney element.

The winner of this week's challenge will receive a $25 GC to:

For my creation, I created a two page layout for my daughter's lifebook.  (There are post-it notes for her protection.  We recently adopted.)

These pictures are from our family vacation to Disney World last December.  We took her to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella Castle.  She LOVED it.  Getting her hair done, makeup, and nails.  She wore the dress and hair for two days before she'd let me wash her up.  She is such a silly little princess.

Be sure to head over to Red Carpet Studio and link up your creation.

Hope my creation inspired you somehow.

Much scrappy love,

A Drawing!!!!

Happy Thursday!

I don't have a craft to share with you just yet today.   But please take the time to read the story below.....

At the age of 31, a single father was trying to raise four children while their mothers either chose to be absent or had passed away. While struggling to take care of their emotional and physical needs, he was diagnosed with Cancer. The original plan was to do surgery to remove the tumor and then chemotherapy to destroy any cells that may have been released into his body during the surgery. What seemed to be a simple situation turned into a nightmare. While talking to his doctor, he found that this type of cancer is not simple....  It cannot be cured by the tradition chemotherapy and radiation. This man has done everything he can to beat this. He has been through the maximum chemotherapy and radiation treatments available at his local hospital and clinic. But they have not worked. His thoughts turn to his children. How long do I have with them? How I will care for them? What will happen to them if I don’t make it?   Regardless of his fears, he got up and went to his treatments and then to work everyday. He woke the kids up and got them off to school with a smile on his face pretending that everything was ok. All the while being terrified inside that this may be one of the last moments he may have with them. Yet he still fights! He WANTS to live. He WANTS to see his children grown and have families of their own. So, to be able to do this, his chooses the last resort…. to endure extreme treatments at a clinic that he must travel to, that he now cannot afford. At these visits he is bombarded with drugs and radiation that would make the strongest person pray to God to make it stop. He does it for his kids. He does it for his mother. He does it for his family. He is unable to work because of these treatments and the effects that the cancer has on his body.   The only comfort that he does have is a woman that grown to love him, despite the fact that the cancer may take him from her too soon. They may only have a few years, at the most. And at the same time, he is scared that he is letting her down too.

Today, I am asking everyone to make a donation to help pay for my little brother's treatments. He is trying to sell everything he has but the kitchen sink. My husband and I are helping as much as we can. But that’s not enough. I ask that you donate $12 to his treatments, $10 to the fund and $2 fees for Paypal.  Your donation will give him more time with his kids, his new found love, with Mom, with me.
Here is the link for the fund set up in his honor..

You can also follow his story on facebook

Please consider a small donation to help a friend and loved one in need.    Your donation is tax deductible.

AND......I will be putting your name into a drawing to win a $15 gift certificate to Scraptastical Kreations.    Just be sure to note when you donate that you came from my blog.    The drawing will be on Oct. 3.

(If you could leave a comment on this post that you donated, it would be greatly appreciated.)

Made Epecially for You

Click here for Red Carpet Studio Sci Fi Card Challenge

Happy Sunday!

It's the fourth week of the month....so that means that it's time for a specific technique challenge at Made Especially......for You challenge.

This month's technique is a gatefold card.

This week's sponsor is....

The winner will receive a $15 GC to their store.

Here's my card to inspire you a bit.

To create the card, I used a gatefold file from the Silhouette store.  Then I broke it apart and changed the interior shape to Nikki's gingerbread shape from the Christmas Ornament Freebie file.  Then I took those 'scraps' and added them to the inside of the card.

For the sentiment I used Verve's Stamps Blessed Christmas that I won from entering a past challenge at Made Especially for You!

The Made Especially.....for You challenge is open until September 30, 7:00 pm CST (US).

Hope my creation inspired you somehow.

Sci Fi Card Challenge - Red Carpet Studio

Happy Sunday!

It's the third week of the month.  You know what that means.  It's time for another card challenge at Red Carpet Studio.  This week's challenge theme is Sci Fi - create a card with a Sci Fi element.

Here's my card:.  Isn't is the cute?  I just love it.

I stepped out of my comfort zone.  I typically work with paper piecings.  I like how I can take a piecing set and make one change, and it is a totally different piece.  But on this card I used a printed clipart I found through Microsoft Word.  My initial thought for my sci fi element was to use a unicorn, a cute rainbow unicorn.  Then I came across this image.  She is a sassy greek god.  I love it!

I paired her with a sentiment from Whimsical Designs.   It thought it went perfect with the image.

The flowers are handmade from Scraptastical Kreations Garden Splendor set.

Hope my creation inspired you somehow.

Much scrappy Love,

Tonya

Cricut Cardz Challenge 115 "Color Play"

Happy Saturday!

I wanted to share with you my card for the Cricut Cardz Challenge #115 "Color Play".  I love entering in these challenges.  I do not play with my Cricut enough, and these challenges gives me a reason to pull her out.  The challenge requires the use of three colors - red, blue, & yellow.   When I saw these colors, I knew exactly what cartridge to use - 3 Birds on Parade.  It is one of my favorite cartridges.

Sorry about the position of the card on the stand.  My two year old little boy wanted to play with the bird while I was taking the picture.  :-)

Supplies:
Cardstock
Fluid Chalk
Dry Chalk
Patterned Paper
3 Birds on Parade Cartridge

Hope my creation inspires you somehow.

Made Especially for You Challenge

Happy Friday!

I am sharing a card with you today I made for the Made Especially for You Challenge.

It is a simple card, but my two year old boy loves it!  And even though it looks simple, it took about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours to finish.  One thing that I love, but isn't apparent is the red striped star above the word Mickey.  I took another sheet of the background paper and cut the star out by hand, edged it with fluid chalk to make it stand out.  The yellow striped Mickey icon in the bottom center is on an adhesive dot for dimension.

Supplies:
Mickey Themed paper pad
Stickles
Fluid Chalk
Floss
Gel Pen
Chipboard Mickey Icon
Adhesive Dots

Hope my creation inspires you somehow.

Much scrappy love,

Tonya
