"The Breakfast Club"

Madonna, 1987 Olympics, Garbage Pail Kids, Big Hair, Neon.......

Ahhhh.....Memories of the 80's!

I LOVE the 80's....especially the movies....

'The Breakfast Club' is one of the iconic movies from the 80's...alongside 'Dirty Dancing,' 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' & 'The Goonies.'

This week's challenge is inspired by this movie......
Create a project inspired by the morning...this could be PJ's, coffee, anything that makes you think of breakfast time.

Breakfast for me is happy, rosey-cheeked children, birds singing & the smell of bacon and coffee in the air.  And since I LOVE coffee, that was my initial inspiration.

To begin....I started with the Sihouette store.  I found this card file by Samantha Walker in the store, along with a DCWV kitchen paper pad in my stash...Voila!  My idea was born....

I LOVE how this card came together.  It's so fun...and girly.

The banner was another Samantha Walker file.  I used my Silhouette software to subtract the letters from the 'flags' of the banner.

For the tea cup 'overlay,' I used Samantha's 4 Flourished Tea Cup Set Silhouette file and sized them to fit the tea cups for the card insert.

Pearls are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.

Peacy Keen - "Just A Recipe"

Happy Wednesday!

It's a B-E-A-U-tiful fall day here in the upper Midwest.  Enjoying it tremendously!

On this lovely day I wanted to share with you my PKS challenge creation.  This week's theme is "Just Cards: Can I Have That Recipe?"

I am a mother of many.  :-)  So when I think of recipes, I think of my kids.  And one recipe that we were exposed to when we first moved up here a number of years ago was Puppy Chow.  In the South, we never eat it.   It was all barbeque and sweet tea.  ;-)

I used three PKS stamp sets, PKSC-21PKSC-20,  and PKSC-04.  I'm not extremely happy with the way my puppy's head turned out in the picture.  But I don't think I'm ever happy with my coloring.  :-)

I added some liquid pearls in Hot Cocoa.  The papers are from a DCWV Halloween/Fall stack.

For the details on the inside of the card, I merged to files in my Silhouette Cameo.  The paw prints are just darling, aren't they?

Ice Cream, Love, & Stamps

Happy Tuesday!!

Get Inky! Stamps current challenge is "Summer Sun Fun."

When I was a little girl, I remember my parents loading us kids up in the Summer, in our pjs, and going to get ice cream.

Here is my creation for the challenge..........................

I used Blue Moon Creations' Sew Sweet Cupcakes stamp set for the sentiment and the hearts.

The ice cream cones and speech bubble frame are from the Silhouette Store.  I used Peachy Keen Stamps Snow Cuties Face Set for the ice cream cones.  A little twine bow and rhinestone to finish it off.

Get Inky! Masculine Challenge

Happy Monday!

It's a new challenge over at Get Inky! Challenge Blog.

The theme is Masculine Cards.

Here is my card.....

My inspiration was a DCWV paper pad I have from Joann's.  I love the colors of this pad.  The front collage panels are from that pad.  I took the whole sheet and cut the panels apart on my rotary paper cutter.  And what is a male card without a little bit of metal embellshment?  Unfortunately, I don't have any.  =)  But these pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supples fit the bill nicely.

The sentiment on the inside of the card (pictured below) is from Get Inky! Stamps Joyful Jar Drinks stamp set.  And to finish it off, a 'metal' pearl in each corner.
