Silhouette and Digital Papers

It's Tonya, from Scrapping Fun with Tonya, & I have a great way to use your Samantha Walker Silhouette files and Samantha Walkers Digital papers.

I just LOVE how I can personalize my projects with the Silhouette and Samantha's products.

One of my favorite Samantha Walker files is the Banner on a Curve (Design ID #38658).

When the file is first opened, it is sized for a 12x12 mat, and all one piece.  To be able to manipulate the file, you must first ungroup.  (Click on the image, then click/select ungroup)

I moved the banner base away from the pieces.  Then next step was to 'release the path.'  To do this, click on the banner pieces, and open the modify window.  While the image is 'highlighted,' click release.  Doing this will separate the banner pieces so that you can alter each one individually.

I wanted to use digital papers from the Samantha Walker Nautical Mega Pack.  With the Silhouette software, you can import your own papers/images.
Click file...library....import to library.

To fill in the banner pieces, just click on the shape of choice so that it is 'highlighted.'   All papers that are imported are available in the patterns window.  (As you can see, I organize my papers/patterns by artist/collection.)  .

Scroll through until the pattern you want is found, click, & VOILA!

You can adjust the pattern to your liking by using the advanced settings.

I used this banner on a card (see below)...so I regrouped the pieces and resized accordingly.

To finish, just do a print & cut.

Here is the card I created with the banner.........

I also used more elements from the  Samantha Walker Nautical Mega Pack for the main image (sailboat), the Together 'sentiment,' and the patterned mat.

For more information on that, please follow my blog and be sure to read my next post.

Congratulations!

Happy Sunday!

It's time for a new challenge over at Red Carpet Studio

http://redcarpetstudiochallenge.blogspot.com

This is my first shaker card...EEK!!

I just LOVE how it turned out.

When I think of award shows/ceremonies, congratulations and speeches are my first thought.  That was my inspiration for this card.  And I wanted the gold (as the Oscar) to be the focus of my card.

.........................................................................

The star and banner are both from Samantha Walker's 1 Piece Shooting Star Banner
I stamped 'congratulations' in gold pigment ink......
Filled the shaker with gold sequins, plus attached a few to the front panel.

For the inside of the card, I traced the 'negative' star with a gold pen in a random pattern.

"The Breakfast Club"

Madonna, 1987 Olympics, Garbage Pail Kids, Big Hair, Neon.......

Ahhhh.....Memories of the 80's!

I LOVE the 80's....especially the movies....

'The Breakfast Club' is one of the iconic movies from the 80's...alongside 'Dirty Dancing,' 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' & 'The Goonies.'

This week's challenge is inspired by this movie......
Create a project inspired by the morning...this could be PJ's, coffee, anything that makes you think of breakfast time.

Breakfast for me is happy, rosey-cheeked children, birds singing & the smell of bacon and coffee in the air.  And since I LOVE coffee, that was my initial inspiration.

To begin....I started with the Sihouette store.  I found this card file by Samantha Walker in the store, along with a DCWV kitchen paper pad in my stash...Voila!  My idea was born....

I LOVE how this card came together.  It's so fun...and girly.

The banner was another Samantha Walker file.  I used my Silhouette software to subtract the letters from the 'flags' of the banner.

For the tea cup 'overlay,' I used Samantha's 4 Flourished Tea Cup Set Silhouette file and sized them to fit the tea cups for the card insert.

Pearls are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.

Cuttin’ and Stampin’ DT Call 2014

Merry Christmas!!

Today's post is a showcase for the current Cuttin' and Stampin' DT Call.

As many of you know, I am a SAHM mom, married to a Navy Veteran.  I LOVE being able to stay home and homeschool our youngest three (adopted) children.  We also have a teenager who attends the local high school, plus an older girl who is the mother of our BEAUTIFUL granddaughter.  My love with crafting started when I started creating lifebooks for the youngest children, to document their lives (individually) prior to becoming a wonderfully blessed part of our family.  While creating our oldest son's book, I was INSTANTLY hooked.  I had so much fun expressing my son's personality and the joy he was bringing to our lives in his book.  My husband witnessed the fun I was having and bought me my first Cricut....since then it has all been about crafting....what supplies do I want, what machines I have to HAVE.....You know the fever, right?

Over the last two years, I have been fortunate to be a part of the following teams:
All that Stickles Blog (co-creator)
Get Inky Stamps (term ends Dec. 2013)

Guest DT

A few of my favorite projects....

http://scrappingfunwithtonya.blogspot.com/2013/10/all-that-stickles-linky-party.html
I created this banner for an All that Stickles Linky Party.  I had SO much fun with this.  I used Teresa Collins' new line, Masquerade Party, and the free Cricut cartridge (TC Chic & Scary) that was available in the Cricut Craft Room for Halloween.  (For the post, click HERE)

This is just one of my favorite cards.  It is just so warming, I think.  I used a Scaptastical Kreations' File and a Mojo Monday sketch for my inspiration.  (Click HERE for the full post)

This beautiful card was made with a family friend (my daughter's) who graduated from high school this past spring.  He is such a wonderful young man, and we wanted to be sure he knew how proud we were of him.  (For the full post, click HERE)

These were give card holders for my daughter's 1st grade teachers, as end of the year gifts.  She just loved giving them out.  :-)  (For full post, click HERE)

This layout was created with my little boy in mind.  He graduated from 4K and, as boys his age do, they LOVE robots.  I also used his favorite color, Red.  :-)  (Click HERE for the full post.)

I am looking forward to hearing from Cuttin' and Stampin' by January 17th.

Star Spangled Stickles Blog Hop

Welcome to the Star Spangled Blog Hop brought to you by the    All that Stickles design team!

"Oh say can you see... by the gleam of Stickles. Oh so proudly we post, our patriotic projects" (if you sing it to the tune of Star Spangled Banner, we promise it makes sense ;)

In non-musical form: Today, the All that Stickles design team has created a variety of patriotic-themed projects using our favorite sparkly embellishment - Stickles!

For my project I made.............

Excuse the homemade collectables and Skylanders toys.... I have kids and I display all their artwork and fun on our mantel.  =)

I used Lori Whitlock's 3D star file from the Silouette store. I embellished with stars and stripes from Paper Studio's Vintage Nation Cardstock Pad. I added Rock Candy Distress Stickles. I inked the edges of the star to give them a bit more depth.

(Distress Stickles on the stars)
