Flower Fun!

Happy Friday!

I am excited to Guest DT at Miriam's Crafting Blog, and to share my flower project with you!

Miriam generously supplied me with some goodies from her store, including these gorgeous bronze flowers.  When I pulled them out, I KNEW I had to use them.

I am a paper crafter...so it took me SEVERAL attempts to finally decide what I was going to do with the flower.

The first thing I tried was putting a red eyelet in the middle and adding Stickles (my go-to crafty item) for some pizzazz....
I am totally in love with this flower...but I just couldn't figure out what to do with it so that the project was just as pretty as the flower itself.

Then it hit me!!  COPICS!

I purchased a small airbrush gun months & months ago.  But I have been afraid to 'waste' the air can.  You know what I mean, right?  You have this wonderful product that you just don't want to use due to fear of an inferior final product??
Yeah, me too!

So, with the airbrush, I thought I would the flower as a mask.... great idea, huh?  I thought so!
I used a dark pink (RV34) Copic marker.  I have been on a kick the last two weeks of using Valentine colors and making cards for the family.  Naturally, I used a pink Copic.  ;-)

What's great about this method IS that I have a background paper for my creation AND a great flower for another project.

After I was sure the Copic ink as dry. I cut the paper to 4 x 5 1/4 & inked around the edges with fluid chalk.  Stamped "Thinking of you" in Memento ink.  To give the 'flowers' a bit more pop and definition, I added some flat back pearls from Miriam's.

Here's my card.....................

It's it beautiful?  I LOVE it!

Thank you for spending some time with me today, and don't forget to link up your project HERE.

Welcome to the Scraptastical Kreations May DT Challenge Blog Hop!

If you've come here from Cathie's Blog then you're in the right place. If not, you'll surely want to start at the beginning, Kristy's Blog, so you don't miss one fabulous thing!

They say April showers (and this year snow showers, too) bring May flowers, so this month is all about using flowers.

We hope you enjoy hopping through the beautiful DT projects and find all of the fabulous ways we've used flowers inspiring.  Be sure to stop at each one to smell the roses!   Find all 5 of the hidden white roses and you could win some fabulous candy!  Each rose is hidden on a different blog throughout the hop.

To win this fabulous flower filled candy all you need to do is:

1. Send us a MESSAGE on the SK FB Fan Page telling us which Five DT members have "the" rose on their page.

2. "Like" the SK FB Fan Page, if you haven't already.

3. Leave a comment on each blog along the hop.  (You don't have to follow each blog to be eligible, but we'd love it if you did!!)

As simple as a daisy!

For this month's challenge, we want you to show us the creative ways you use flowers on a Mother's Day card. To be eligible to enter, your card must contain flowers and any SK piecing, or you can use one of SK's flower files. You can share it with us by posting it on our Facebook Page or in the SK Facebook Group. Projects can be posted all month long, this challenge ends 12AM CST June 1.

One lucky winner will receive $15 to spend in the SK store!

Here's my creation....................

I created a cascading card.  I created the base and all panels by hand.  The flowers, flourish, banner, and back scallop are ALL Scraptastical Kreation files.  The flowers and greenery are from the Elegant Florals.  The banner is from Element Me This.  And the scallop is from the Sophisticated Scallops file.

Here's the complete line-up if you lose your way:

Christine - Hot Berry Designs
Raquel - Krafty Kaboose
Deborah - Scrapping Mamma

And next you're off to Jeannine's blog to see what amazing creation she has for you.

Thank you for joining us in this flower filled hop!  We hope you've enjoyed it and that you've been inspired in some way today!

Floral Fun

Happy Wednesday!!!

We have a new challenge over at Get Inky! Challenge Blog - Fabulous Floral Fun!!

The theme requires the use of flowers on your project.  I used the Blue Moon Creation's Buzzing Bees Stamp Set to create this card.  The stamp set has a flower included, but no leaves/stems. So I got creative. :-) The set includes two 'bee tracks,' one dashed and one solid lined. I took the solid 'tracks' and inked just the portion I wanted and stameds the 'stems and leaves,' then stamped the flower on top. Perfect!! After I added the bee and his trail, I used distress inks (Salty Ocean & Mowed Lawn) to color the background. The flowers and bee were colored with distress and Copic markers. Pearls were added to the centers to give the card some dimension. A touch of icicle Stickles to finish the bee's wings.

Go Get Inky! and link your creation up HERE.

The theme is to use flowers on the card.  I actually used the flower as the card.  :-)  The flower is from Scraptastical Kreations Fancy Flowers cut file.

The image is a Saturated Canary digi that I colored with Copics.  Her skins loooks orange-toned in this picture, but she actually isn't.  Sorry about that.
