For the Love of Vacation

Welcome to another challenge at Red Carpet Studio!

This bi-weekly challenge is inspired by the movie "National Lampoon's Vacation"
This movie is about a family's mishaps travelling across the country from Chicago to an amusement park in Los Angeles, California.

THE CHALLENGE:  Create a project in honor of vacations.  Do you have pictures of your last vacation that need scrapped?  Do you have an adorable new vacation themed digi stamp?

My creation................

Two of my favorite thing are palm trees and Mickey Mouse (our family vacations are to Walt Disney World).  It's a joke around our house about my obsession with them.  Also, I like to mail cards to my hubby.  I thought it would be fun to mail this card to him, with the inside saying 'more than palm trees & Mickey Mouse.'

The palm tree is from a Miss Kate Cuttables Wild Thing Title cutting file.
I created the Mickey Silhouette in my software.

My layout is based on the Mojo Monday Sketch below.

Here's what I came up with for this challenge......

I created a cute little card for St. Patrick's Day.  We are Irish and I LOVE to celebrate with the family and give the kids a window into Irish Traditions.

The cute leprechaun, lips (on the banner), and the inside sentiment are from Peachy Keen's Kiss Me Leprechaun Stamp Set.
The papers are from Core'dinations and Graphic 45's The 12 Days of Christmas 6x6 paper pad.

Happy Sunday!

It's time for a card challenge at Red Carpet Studio.  This week's theme is "Where the Heart is"....create a card with a heart.

Our challenge is sponsored by
The winner of this week's challenge will receive two digital images of their choice.

Here's my card........

I love this image.  It is one of the wonderful images from Saturated Canary.   When I think of the theme "Where the Heart is," home comes to mind.  And when I think of home, my family is first on my mind.  Since my husband and I are adopting/raising three of our grandchildren, it feels like we always have a little one in diapers around.  So this image is perfect!

My heart is an etched design.  I used a heart from a Scraptastical Kreations file and 'traced' around it with a Cricut tool on Black Magic Core'dinations cardstock.

The roses are just some florals I picked up from the 'wedding' department at Joanns.  I put some distress ink on my craft sheet, spritz it with water, and let the flowers soak up the color.

Supplies:
Copics
Fluid Chalk
Stickles
Core'dinations Carstock
Cardstock - Cream
Distress Ink
Embossing folder
Flowers
Corner punch
Cricut tool

Red Carpet Studio Challenge

Happy Sunday!

It's a combined challenge over at Red Carpet Studio.  This week the Card and Layout Design Teams are in an Anything Goes Challenge.  The theme this week is "Sweet."  Create anything, does not have to be a card or layout, with a sweet theme.  Our inspiration is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Our wonderful sponsor, Vampire Craftin, will give a blog makeover to the winner.

My project...

I created a candy box.  I love ginerbread men, especially since I have a daughter, son, and granddaughter with ginger colored hair...a light golden red.  So beautiful.  Also, our little city has a candy shop. They sell the most wonderful chocolates and my daugther loves their Peanut Butter Meltaways.  So I filled this box with some meltaways for her for Christmas.

For my creation, I created a two page layout for my daughter's lifebook.  (There are post-it notes for her protection.  We recently adopted.)

These pictures are from our family vacation to Disney World last December.  We took her to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella Castle.  She LOVED it.  Getting her hair done, makeup, and nails.  She wore the dress and hair for two days before she'd let me wash her up.  She is such a silly little princess.

Sci Fi Card Challenge - Red Carpet Studio

Happy Sunday!

It's the third week of the month.  You know what that means.  It's time for another card challenge at Red Carpet Studio.  This week's challenge theme is Sci Fi - create a card with a Sci Fi element.

Here's my card:.  Isn't is the cute?  I just love it.

I stepped out of my comfort zone.  I typically work with paper piecings.  I like how I can take a piecing set and make one change, and it is a totally different piece.  But on this card I used a printed clipart I found through Microsoft Word.  My initial thought for my sci fi element was to use a unicorn, a cute rainbow unicorn.  Then I came across this image.  She is a sassy greek god.  I love it!

I paired her with a sentiment from Whimsical Designs.   It thought it went perfect with the image.

The flowers are handmade from Scraptastical Kreations Garden Splendor set.

Hope my creation inspired you somehow.

Much scrappy Love,

Tonya
