For the Love of Vacation

Welcome to another challenge at Red Carpet Studio!

This bi-weekly challenge is inspired by the movie "National Lampoon's Vacation"
This movie is about a family's mishaps travelling across the country from Chicago to an amusement park in Los Angeles, California.

THE CHALLENGE:  Create a project in honor of vacations.  Do you have pictures of your last vacation that need scrapped?  Do you have an adorable new vacation themed digi stamp?

My creation................

Two of my favorite thing are palm trees and Mickey Mouse (our family vacations are to Walt Disney World).  It's a joke around our house about my obsession with them.  Also, I like to mail cards to my hubby.  I thought it would be fun to mail this card to him, with the inside saying 'more than palm trees & Mickey Mouse.'

The palm tree is from a Miss Kate Cuttables Wild Thing Title cutting file.
I created the Mickey Silhouette in my software.

My layout is based on the Mojo Monday Sketch below.

MKC Guest Designer

Happy April Fools!!!

I am pleased to be guest designing for Miss Kate Cuttables.  Her files are SO CUTE!  If you haven't checked them out, you NEED to...you can find her files HERE or at her Silhouette Store.

I have a birthday card for a VERY SPECIAL little girl to share with you.  My baby girl, Alice, is turning 8 tomorrow.  And as any soon-to-be 8 year old little girl, she is in love with fairy tales and mythical creatures.

(I apologize for the picture quality.  I attempted to photograph this three times, with three different backgrounds and multiple angles.....and this was the best one.)

I used Miss Kate's Unicorn file.  I cut the unicorn out of textured cardstock in various colors.  To spruce her up, I added Fruit Punch Stickles to her tail and hair, and Gold Stickles to her horn.  The magical starbursts, also from the file, were highlighted with Stickles (Firefly, Purple, & Waterfall).

The sentiment flag was hand cut. The sentiment is from the Whimsical Designs Everyday Sentiments Stamps set.  The sentiment includes 'to you,' but I masked that part off.  The papers are from a Paper Studio Butterfly Kisses Scrapbooking pad in my stash.

I'm a 'sucker' for you

Happy Friday!!!

It is SO cold here today....single digit highs.  But the sun is out...so ALL is well in our Winter World.  And because of the temps (and I cleaned the house like crazy yesterday washing the family's bedding and other laundry), today is a scrappy day for me. YAY!!!!   Before I get to scrapping my bottom off, I wanted to share with you a cute little card I make a few days ago...

My inspiration for this card was two fold....the current PKS Sketch challenge (see sketch below) and Valentine's Day.

PKC-14-01

I used Miss Kate's Lollipop Couple for my focal point (and hearts).  For her cute little face, I used Peachy Keen Stamps January SOTM.  I highlighted the face with white gel pen and dry chalk.  The lollipop is on pop dots, along with the 'floating' hearts..

The paper is from some loose 6x6 in my stash.  The flatback pearls are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.

The inside says "I'm a 'Sucker' for you."
Just perfect for a special little one.  ;-)
